my kind of mystery

I know, I know....another reading challenge.

It is getting slightly out of control, but I just can't help it.  This one runs from February 1, 2014 through February 28, 2015 and it sounded like fun!

My Kind of Mystery is hosted by Riedel Fascination and it is everything having to do with mystery!  You can find the rules and sign up here.

There are four levels and I'm going to start with 'Hidden Doorways'.

  • Secret Messages 5 - 10 books
  • Unearthing Clues 11 - 20 books
  • Hidden Doorways 21 - 30 books
  • Lost Artifacts 31 - 40 books
Seems like a good place to start.  I'm going to try a few different new (to me) mystery authors that have long standing series so maybe I'll make it to Lost Artifacts, but for right now I think Hidden Doorways is right up my alley!
  1. A Fatal Grace - Louise Penny
  2. Killer - Sara Shepard
  3. A Catered Murder - Isis Crawford
  4. Storm Front - Jim Butcher
  5. Heartless - Sara Shepard
  6. The Serpent's Tale - Ariana Franklin
  7. Dust to Dust - Tami Hoag
  8. The Darkest Evening of the Year - Dean Koontz
  9. Wanted - Sara Shepard
  10. The Thousand Dollar Tan Line - Rob Thomas
  11. A Wanted Man - Lee Child
  12. Every Secret Thing - Laura Lippman
  13. Twisted - Sara Shepard
  14. The Cruelest Month - Louise Penny

  1. My three themes are a new spin on challenges, starting with a span that circumvents gardening season and Christmas. :) I wanted flexible reading circles for my favourite subjects, including the word games "Gentle Spectrums" in which we repeat colours. I have on rule in "Ethereal" to weed out the abundance of 'vampires' and one rule in "My Kind Of Mystery", that the also abundant youth demographic be pre-1991. No rules about when you get books, how short, or when you join. Count everything from February 1, 2014 when you step in. Welcome Kari! Sincerely, Carolyn

  2. Good evening, Kari. The first 'A RIEDEL Clue' went live and elapses in 21 hours! I'm letting members know -this time- so they grow used to monitoring "My Kind Of Mystery". Phew, alerting everyone has taken all night. If I leave messages at a blog; replying at mine gives a central checkpoint, in consideration of my über slow dial-up modem. I look forward to hearing how you like the author-based review buttons. Activities for our two sister groups will be unrolled shortly. :) Yours Truly, Carolyn.

leave me some love. or hate. don't mind either, but if you leave the hate be prepared. i bite back.
