This week was not so good. Sad smile  For the first time I forgot to take a picture for the day!  I substituted a lovely picture, but it still bums me out.

a strawberry shortcake party

Emma decided on Strawberry Shortcake as the theme for her birthday party this year.  It’s funny how cartoons that were around 20+ years ago are making the rounds all over again.

Ray got up early so he could power wash the back yard.  Such a busy guy!

No, I didn’t hang this all by myself.

The birthday girl in her birthday dress.

My sister-in-law’s delicious cupcakes!

Bouncy house, balloons, slightly bored adults….

It looks so tame now, but just imagine about 10 more kids and that’s why I don’t have very many pictures after this point.

Ready to blow out her candles.

Happy little Chloe awake after her nap.

My sister trying to look gangster while playing on Emma’s scooter.

Dominic loving the kid swing!

Happy Birthday sweet girl!

project 365, week 18

So behind, so behind!  I think I’m two weeks behind now.  I’ll post the week before today and then I’ll get to last week’s tomorrow.  Hopefully…..

5.2.11 – I call this one ‘Cheater Bokeh’.  I just took a picture of some bokeh on my computer screen.  *tee-hee*

5.3.11 – It looks like wine, comes in a wine bottle, but it’s not wine!  For us preggos.

5.4.11 – This is a picture of my lap desk pillow.  I love it!

5.5.11 – It was such a hot day and Emma and I were in the driveway while she was making her Mother’s Day presents.  Ray had hosed down the driveway and I stepped in the water and took a picture of the footprints before they dried.

5.6.11 – Took Emma for our pre-birthday pedicures.

5.7.11 – The Birthday Girl blowing out her candles.

And there’s the week!

score another for the girls

My sister-in-law’s friend works for an ultrasound clinic and when I was pregnant with Emma she brought us in to get a bunch of ultrasound pictures done and to confirm she was in fact, a girl.  We went in yesterday and had the expertise of two ultrasound techs and they claim to be 100% sure this little one is a girl!

Woo-hoo!

Of course, since I’m only 16 weeks they could be wrong, but we’ll get confirmation at the end of the month at our scheduled ultrasound.  What I cared most about was that the baby had a heartbeat and was moving around like a little Tasmanian devil.  They were surprised I couldn’t feel her moving around.  For the record, I still can’t feel her moving around, but I’m happy to know she seems to be doing good in there.

Afterwards we headed over to Ikea so we could get what will hopefully be the last piece of furniture for Emma’s room for quite some time.  Then we came home and I started putting together my latest LEGO masterpiece while watching numerous episodes of Castle.

Can you say, perfect ending to a good day?

And then today, despite having a dentist appointment on Friday the 13th, I was able to eat 2 full meals without feeling sick!!

Today is also a good day.

glee + emma

It seems that watching Glee with me has given Emma some interesting expectations of what high school will be like.

First she asked me when she could be prom queen.

I told her when she gets to high school.

She replied, ‘Oh the musical school.  I can’t wait to be grown up and go there.  We will sing all the time.’

*sigh*

blahs

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted.  At first I told myself it was because I was so busy over the weekend.  Emma’s birthday party was a huge success, although quite exhausting.  Then it was Mother’s Day and we juggled spending time with my mom, aunts & grandmother and Ray’s mom & sisters.

But then the days passed and I just don’t feel like doing much.  I don’t really feel like finishing the last of the six books I’m 100 pages from finishing.  I don’t feel like playing the new LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean game Ray got for me, nor am I super gung-ho about putting together the LEGO set of Diagon Alley I got for Mother’s Day.  And I’m sad to say that I have put little effort into taking pictures for my 365 project.

Normally, I would chalk it up to depression, but I’ve been there and know what that feels like and this isn’t it.  I’m just so tired and so tired of feeling yucky.  Since conception I don’t think there has been one full day of this pregnancy where I have felt good and not fighting the urge to throw up.  What makes me the most unhappy is that I love to eat good food and so far I have been unable to eat all the things that I love.  Nothing tastes good.

It feels blasphemous to complain about not loving every minute of this pregnancy since we worked so hard to get here and went through so much.  I feel ungrateful and as if I’m tempting fate.  I worry because I’m not gaining weight, in fact have lost some weight.  I’m back to wearing non maternity pants.  I worry because I haven’t felt the baby move yet, though I’m only 15 weeks and some say you can’t feel the baby until around 16-17 weeks.

I always thought that the second pregnancy would be worse than the first.  With the first you literally have no idea what to expect.  But with the second, you know and may have experienced all the scary & bad things that can happen and you worry the whole time about those bad & scary things.  And I am a worrier by nature.  So as you can imagine despite the tiny logical part of my brain I’m quite stressed out about ridiculous things.

And I haven’t felt like blogging.

So bear with me and my intermittent postings.  I’ll try my best to get back in the writing groove.

pre-mother’s day

We had a lot going on these last couple of days.  Emma made some Mother’s Day presents for her Ba-Chan & Grandma.  It was a new experience for me, although she’s worked with stepping stones before.

Making stepping stone mosaics.

Can’t wait to see what they look like when we take them out of the molds!

But the highlight of Mother’s Day so far (and it’s only Friday)?  I was parent helper in Emma’s class today and they were also doing a Mother’s Day tea beginning the last half hour of class.  It was also Emma’s share day so she’s been super excited about today all week!  They’ve been working on a Mother’s Day surprise all week and she’s been dying to tell us what it is.

And so spending the day with her at school and watching this really made my Mother’s Day!

Hope everyone’s having a wonderful Mother’s Day!
