Anita Blake–In Full Color

P11789072

If you’ve read Laurell K. Hamilton’s The Laughing Corpse nothing in this graphic will  come as a surprise to you, but as always, it’s fun to put the faces to the names in the books.

If you haven’t read The Laughing Corpse, you should!  It’s creepy and fun!

Anita Blake raises zombies for a living.  On the side she helps St. Louis’s ‘Spook’ squad find the baddies that stalk the humans at night.  She’s tough, cynical and never without a weapon.  The Laughing Corpse is actually the second in the series, but since I already knew the story it didn’t seem like that big of a deal for me to read them out of order.

In the Laughing Corpse Anita is called to investigate the murder of a family in a safe & quiet suburb.  Anita believes it’s got to be the work of a uncontrolled zombie so she heads on out to the only person she thinks is capable of raising such a monster: the local voodoo queen.

At the same time a rich & sinister man offers her a ridiculous amount of money to raise a very old zombie, but that would require actions that Anita just won’t do.

With lots of action and gore The Laughing Corpse is probably the best book in the series.  I guess I’ll have to see if it’s the best in the graphic novel series too!
